At dnaPower, protecting your privacy is a priority. We are committed to safeguarding your personal information, biological samples, and test-related information in accordance with applicable Canadian and U.S. privacy laws and strict confidentiality and security standards.
We do not sell or rent this information, samples, or test results.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you. By using our website and services, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this Policy.
Your cheek swab, stool, saliva, dried blood, or other biological sample provided for testing is handled using a barcode system. It is separated from your personal identifying information to help protect your privacy.
The laboratory uses the sample to extract DNA or other biological data for analysis in accordance with applicable laboratory quality, safety, and privacy standards. Once extraction and analysis processes are complete, the physical sample is securely destroyed or disposed of in accordance with applicable legal, biosafety, and laboratory requirements.
We generate genetic, microbiome, epigenetic, and other test-related data as applicable based on the service you select. This information is used to provide the testing service you requested, prepare your personalized report, and support any related report review or consultation.
We collect date of birth and sex to process your DNA sample accurately. We may also ask for health, lifestyle, or wellness-related information during a report review or consultation to tailor action plans and recommendations to your lifestyle. Providing this additional information is voluntary.
We do not sell or rent personal information, samples, test-related information, or test results.
We may share limited information only as necessary to deliver our services, including with trusted laboratory partners, service providers, payment processors, technology providers, and professional advisors. These parties are required to maintain confidentiality and data security.
Authorized dnaPower personnel and consultants may access customer reports only as necessary to provide customer support, report reviews, consultations, or other services you have requested.
At your request and with your consent, we may share your results with an authorized dnaPower partner. Where applicable, access to results may be provided through the partner’s dnaPower portal.
Where laboratory services are provided by external partners, data is de-identified and managed using secure barcode systems. Reports are stored securely on Canadian servers.
dnaPower does not provide services directly to individuals under 18 years of age. A legal guardian may provide consent and purchase services on behalf of a minor. If data is collected without appropriate consent, we may delete the information where permitted by law.
Email communications are used only for their intended purpose. Due to the nature of email, sending personal information in an email remains at your own risk.
