We for SheWE for SHE

We for She is an annual event of over 1000 high school girls and business professionals promoting gender equality in the workplace. It is one of North America’s largest gatherings of women’s organizations, companies, experts, business leaders, advocates and young women. Its goal is to advance equality and grow the Canadian economy by championing gender diversity in leadership as a business imperative.  Our CEO, Lois Nahirney, is the co-founder and co-chair of this event now in its 5th year.

Women’s Executive Network (WXN)

WXN inspires smart women to lead.  It creates and delivers innovative networking, mentoring, professional and personal development to inform, inspire, and connect our community of over 22,000 smart women and their organizations in the pursuit of excellence.  It has recognized over 1000 women through Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100.  Lois is the national co-chair and has been the BC chair for over 15 years.

 

Vietnam Education Society

Vietnam Education Society

The Vietnam Education Society was started in 2005 to raise funds to improve the educational opportunities for children in rural Vietnam. This includes covering the cost of construction for new elementary schools and kindergartens, supplying school lunches for kindergarten children, providing scholarships, and other supports for girls at risk of human trafficking.  Lois is on the board and will travel to Vietnam this summer to support the summer camp for 800 rural at-risk girls to learn about health, safety, careers and community.

Pacific Autism Family Network

The Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN) is a centre of excellence and network of supports for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. The PAFN’s core purpose is to be a Knowledge Centre. It fulfills this purpose by bringing together state of the art resources for research, information, learning, assessment, treatment and support; and building capacity to address the lifespan needs of individuals with ASD and related disorders. We support our good friends who founded this charity.

BC Premier's Women's Economic CounselBC Premier’s Women’s Economic Council

The BC Premier’s Women’s Economic Council works with government to bring greater gender diversity and awareness to government programs and to advise on ways to advance women in the economy.  Lois was selected by the Premier to be the inaugural chair and led this committee for 4 years.
